Welcome to Resilient Roots. My name is Nick, and I'm an Iraq War veteran who, like many others, struggled to find my place when I returned home. After my service, I felt disconnected from the society I once knew, grappling with the invisible scars of war and trying to piece together a life that felt whole again.
This journey led me to the earth—literally. I found solace and strength in the simple acts of gardening, foraging, and striving for self-sufficiency. These practices became my therapy, grounding me and helping me manage my mental health. Through the cycles of planting and harvesting, I began to reconnect with the world around me and with myself.
**Resilient Roots** is more than just a personal journey; it’s a space for growth, learning, and resilience. Here, I share my experiences, insights, and the lessons I’ve learned along the way. Whether you’re a fellow veteran, someone struggling with mental health, or simply interested in self-reliance and nature, I hope you find something here that resonates with you.
Join me as I explore the healing power of the natural world, and maybe together, we can grow a little stronger, a little more resilient, with each season.
